LETTUCE is GOOD FOR HEALTH AND WELL BEING

I didn't want to go to the grocery store today. But I needed to find something for supper.  I live close to Super Wally World so I went there AGAIN.  When I got there I decided to take a little vacation away from home and just tour the store and frolic
and look at stuff.
I wandered into the garden center. I didn't think they would already have veggie plants
but as I stepped outside into the garden area, there were the lettuce plants.

The nicest people work at Walmarts. This dear old man was so friendly. We smelled the Hyacinths which
were SO Fragrant! Delightful! Next time I'll take my camera to the store.

 These are my Lettuce Plants

I bought 4 six packs
three Red Tips, and one Romaine.
Then I went on back into the food department.

I was in dairy and noticed a lady looking
into my basket.
She asked 'Oh, are those lettuce plants'?
I answered, 'Why Yes, they are'.

Before I realized it, 2 hours passed by.
Yakety Yak, Yak and Yak..
You feel like you have a new friend
after you've just talked to a stranger for
two hours. My new friend's name is
Maxine. What a sweet lady. She and I seemed
to have a therapy session just helping each other with what's good to eat, what's healthy
what's not?

We talked about family and problems we have today and we talked about our Father, God.

It felt very comforting to discuss how
if we have faith in the Word of the Bible,
there are answers there.

Maxine had some good advice and tips and she raises chickens and gathers her own eggs.

I had some good ideas and products
to tell her all about. I drug Maxine
from one department to the other showing her
my new found love (Jicama -pronounced
Hic-a-Muh) and then on to Napa Cabbage. Both have become favorites of mine in the kitchen.

Next, I introduced Maxine to my favorite
late night snack instead of ice cream,
Frozen Cherries
YUM!!!!!

Maxine had no idea there was such a thing as
Frozen Succulent Cherries! Yeah, she bought a bag! I already had mine home in the freezer.

Across from the frozen cherries was the
Blue Bell Ice Cream...
so we pondered on all of the flavors and
talked about what were our favorites.

After learning all kinds of healthy food ideas, I came home and surfed the internet about what I think Maxine was trying to tell me about: "ALKALINE" foods for our health.

I feel it necessary for me to learn all about why Alkaline foods are good:

         Why Alkaline Foods are Essential

'Your health depends on the balance of an alkaline environment, created by eating foods such as
tomatoes, avocados and green vegetables...striking the optimum 80/20 balance and regulating your
body's acid/alkaline chemistry through simple changes in diet can result in weight loss, increased
stamina and strength, a stronger immune system and a greater sense of wellbeing.'

So, Lettuce is good for your health, first of all, I'm going to grow this in my garden,
and second of all, having it in my grocery
basket caused me to make a new friend
and have girl talk therapy at the store
instead of it being drudgery to go shop
when I don't know what to eat anymore
or what to buy for my family.
I came home refreshed and excited and
I made a great Healthy supper!

I'd eat a fried baloney sandwich if it was just ME.

I got Maxine's address so I can mail her
some of my favorite recipes!

As I took a pic of my lettuce, I noticed how pretty my rosemary is..

Check it out-it's blooming!:

Then as I walked out back to visit my little Peanut's grave,I took a picture of it.
He has a solar light and a rock collection
in his memorial spot, along with pots
of herbs and a hen and chickens plant.

RIP little Peanut

It's so green because of all the rain,
"Thank You God".

I'm seeing Dandeliions
