Funky Chicken Store Now Open

I have never been to the Florida Keys,
but My art has made it's way there.

I was asked by the store owner to
create a Funky Chicken logo for his store.
He found my art on my blog and facebook,
and he said My chickens were the
Happiest Chickens he ever saw.

After many different Roosters I painted
and showed my client, this one below
passed the Audition!

My designs made it onto T shirts for the store too.

My art is on the two on the left and right of this rack. They look Fabulous, don't they?

One day maybe I will be lucky enough to
Click on the link and go
take the virtual of the shop!

It's good to know that all my time sitting in front of the computer is not all for nothing.

Thank You Mr. Funky Chicken Store
for your patience and creating such a beautiful store and including my Art
and being so nice to work with. It has
been such a pleasure.

PALETTE KNIFE TEXAS FLAG ART AND AMERICAN FLAG ART

AMERICAN FLAG ON TEXTURED BOARD.

PAINT A LARGE CANVAS MURAL (PORTABLE) WITH PAINTERS DROP CLOTH

Use Painters Drop cloth canvas to paint
a Huge painting or portable Mural.
It's 4 feet by 5 feet.

You can find these drop cloth canvases at
Walmart or Home Depot, etc.

Here is how I did this one:

First you have to wash and dry the fabric. It's best to cut the size you want first
then wash them and dry them.

Hang them up somewhere or drape them over something to keep them from creasing.
You may have to iron some of the wrinkles
out but for the most part, this fabric
washes and dries pretty much wrinkle free.

TIP: Do Not paint a wrinkle,
it will be that way forever.

I have a large workshop so I use a
wall to hang them up from clip rings
until I am ready to work on them,
and also as I am painting one.

Step One is to coat the entire canvas
with Faux glaze. This helps the paints
to go on much better, as the fabric
is very THIRSTY.
Next, I basecoated with latex flat
white paint.

When it's dry, the next step is to
draw the design you are wanting to paint.
I used chalk to sketch so it can be
easily covered up with paint.

I am using acrylic paints.

If you don't have a free wall to tack
up the drop cloth so you can paint it,
use a large
sheet of plywood as your wall.

When the painting is finished,
You can glue the edges under or sew them
if you are a seamstress.

After the paint has dried, put a coat of
Faux Glaze over it, and it's all done!

I don't know how many folks would have a
wall space to hang a 4' x 5' canvas, but
I would find a spot if I wanted it.
You could also hang this to cover a window
as a curtain. You could paint a faux bed
frame headboard and hang on the wall behind the bed, wouldn't that be great!

I will have this one up for sale on Etsy
when it's finished.
The best part is that it can be folded
into a square for shipping!
The customer buy their own
clip rings or curtain rod 'n' brackets
or decide how to display the art.
I listed this Wall Hanging Mural Flag
FOR SALE:

Here's a Landscape with a tree.
I will finish it when I figure out
what I want to do next.
Maybe an RV camper set up,
maybe a family tree with
a clothesline banner for photos...
'The Sky is the Limit'!

Paint you some New Shoes

Start with an old pair of canvas shoes,

Sweet stuff for Sweethearts on Valentines Day

Got Something Sweet to give to Someone
Special for Valentines day?

I think Roses painted on Vintage wares
are Wonderful. All the photos below are
paintings or projects done by me,
Susan Downey Wymola.

I Love Painting on Windows, and this one
is just a small frame.

Here's another favorite unique Window.

Next is a Swap I did. Hand painted
Card, Ribbon Roses I made, A book marker
I painted roses on which is a dotted swiss ribbon, and tied at the bottom is a glass prism with a dragonfly painted on it.
Painted on glass goblets make
a great candy dish.
And then the candy bar wrapper is painted
on a silk scrap.

A large Valentines display!

A local gift store displayed my candy bars with designer wrappers at
Valentines Day!

I think Candy Bar Wrappers on Hershey Bars are a Wonderful  Gift Idea, Especially for
a large group like students or teachers
or co-workers. Who would not Love a
designer gift wrapped candy bar?

More designer wrappers.
I ran sheet music through
my printer and added text messages
and the heart was my art cropped into a heart.
The little rose was hand painted onto sheet music.
The black doodles were just
to add embellishments.
You could always add
Glitter paint too.

To make your own candy bar wrappers, remove the paper wrapper from a candy bar,
then use it for a pattern.
That would be Sweet of You.
